Turn a photo or a sentence into a live wallpaper
Wallpaper Animator's Studio makes a picture from what you describe, or starts from one you already have, and animates it into a seamless loop that plays as your desktop wallpaper. An animation is usually ready in a few minutes.
From a photo
- Open the Studio and choose Import image. Any photo or artwork on your computer works.
- If you want changes first, ask for them in the chat, for example a different time of day or style.
- Ask it to animate the picture, and say what should move: "make the water ripple and the clouds drift".
- It comes back as a seamless loop, usually within a few minutes. Press Set to put it on your desktop.
From a sentence
- Open the Studio and describe the scene in the chat, as plainly as you'd tell a person.
- It makes a picture. On Windows the picture is made in your screen's shape, so portrait and ultrawide monitors get a fitting one.
- Ask for changes in your own words: night instead of day, a watercolor look, warmer colors, or a variation. Each new picture costs energy.
- When you like it, ask it to animate the picture. It turns into a seamless loop, usually within a few minutes.
- Press Set to use it, or Publish to share it in the gallery.
What it costs
- Every account gets 100 energy a day, recharging gradually, and can hold up to 100.
- A picture (new or edited) costs 15. An animation costs 25, so one day's energy covers up to 4 animations.
- Chatting costs nothing, only pictures and animations do. Browsing, favorites and collections never cost energy.
- If a generation fails, its energy is returned, up to a daily limit.
- Optional energy packs are sold through Steam in the app. Bought energy never expires and is used after your daily energy. Hearts on wallpapers you publish earn extra energy, which never expires.
Tips for good loops
- Scenes with motion that repeats on its own, such as water, clouds, rain, fire or an aurora, show the movement most clearly.
- Say what should move when you ask for the animation. The motion you describe is what it animates.
Using your own videos and images
Import images or videos from your computer and they play, rotate and join collections like any other wallpaper. There's no limit and no energy cost; only animating a picture uses energy. Collections can rotate on a timer, from every 5 minutes to once a day, with shuffle.
Publishing to the gallery
Press Publish to share a picture or animation in the community gallery, where people can set it, keep it and heart it. Imported pictures can be published, and so can animations made from them. Imported videos can't be published yet. Requests and published imports go through a content check.
